I am Janet, the creator of Yuppy Puppy Havanese. My first
Havanese was a gift to my son 12 years ago, from there we
were hooked. A year and a half later we got our second “Katie”
and so on, and so on... We began showing when Katie was about 6
months old and that was the beginning of Yuppy Puppy Havanese.
For a family that began at the very beginning, having to learn the
ins and outs of the dog world, how to groom, care and raise a
litter, I think we have done remarkably well. In such a short
time, I have finished more than 40 dogs, 2 with obedience titles,
over 30 bred by champions, two currently top Havanese in the
country in Conformation as well as the #1 Havanese and #1 Toy
in Obedience in the Country. Not too bad for a family who
learned from the ground up. As we put conformation, health,
coat, temperament and soundness at the top of our priorities
each generation and each breeding just keeps getting better and
better.

I was a founding & charter member of
both the Tropical Havanese Club and the
Mid Florida Havanese Club, serving on
both boards as corresponding secrectary.
In past years I have also served both
clubs as the Specialty Show Chairman.
Now, I actively serve on the board of
the Independent Havanese Club. I am
also involved with the NE FL Toy Dog
Club, Marion Alachua Dog Training
Association and the SE Steward
Association.
We live in Ocala / Silver Springs, FL,
conveniently located to Orlando, Tampa,
and Jacksonville. We are within driving
distance to most of the state of Florida,
Georgia, and the Carolinas.
All of our dogs live in our home with us,
they sleep on the beds and sofas, crawl
on the furniture and bring so much
laughter and joy into our home. I can't
even imagine life without them and hope
I never have to.
